Forth get support from the crowd

Bristol SETsquared member, Forth, has just closed a successful crowdfunding round totaling £166k.

Forth is a biomarker tracking platform which gives customers deep insights into their health and wellbeing. They do this by providing direct access to accredited labs to analyse over 50 internal markers, such as thyroid function, body fat and immunity, which are vital for good health and sports performance.

The company plans to invest this injection of capital into their marketing, to raise their awareness and drive sales to increase their customer base.

As a health consumer brand, the company decided that crowdfunding was the right investment route for them, as it was also a means to generate awareness of their service and gain ambassadors and advocates for what they are doing. In terms of future investment rounds, it also ensures that they have an active and engaged audience of potential investors. The recent crowdfunding round on Crowdcube, attracted 290 investors.

Sarah Bolt, CEO and founder of Forth, explains: “We’re currently seeing a revolution in the healthcare industry. The explosion of wearables plus apps and tools which enable individuals to track their fitness and overall wellbeing, is fuelling people’s desire to gain greater insight into their own health. I strongly believe this is why we’ve seen such positive support from the crowd.

“The last nine months have been a steep learning curve in the world of investment. With the help of SETsquared, which has included advice on creating investment decks and access to pitch competitions, we were able to present a strong and compelling pitch to the crowd.”
