3 Day Startup (3DS) is an international non-profit organisation that teaches university students how to start a company over the course of a weekend.
SETsquared are partnering with the University of Texas to bring 3DS to the University of Bath and we have 50 places available for the event which runs from Friday 14th October until Sunday 16th October. The programme will take place at the University of Bath Innovation Centre (UBIC) and we’ll be recruiting 10 participants from each of the SETsquared partners.
This event is free for participants, open to all research areas and subject disciplines and we’ll even provide accommodation and food during the weekend.
In order for students to apply to the 3DS, they must fill in an online application form which can be found by clicking the Apply Now icon at the top or bottom of this page or on 3DS website here.
The deadline to apply is 30th September. If successful, students will attend a short interview at their respected university.
During the event students will work with talented peers from different backgrounds and get mentorship from some really amazing entrepreneurs. During the weekend they will form teams, develop an idea, conduct market research, talk to customers, create a prototype and pitch to real investors by Sunday night. By participating in 3DS students will get to connect with talented undergraduates and postgraduates from all different backgrounds, create something from the ground up and learn about what it takes to found a company.
This is a great opportunity for students and aspiring entrepreneurs to get real experience of starting a company or working at a startup. 3DS is unique amongst startup events in that it is focused on universities, is collaborative (no prizes, no winners) and that it has a track record of more than one funded incubated or revenue generating startup per programme.
