WORLD LEADING BUSINESS SUPPORT
Nine new companies from across the UK joined the Scale-Up programme during July and August. From energy-efficient commercial shipping to renewable energy tech for some of the world’s least developed countries, we are excited to welcome this new cohort of innovative businesses into the programme.
Let’s find out more about our nine newest members:
Stewart Signs
Stewart Signs supplies advertising signage and branding to some of the UK’s dominant road and rail transport businesses. Where traditional materials once paid a heavy environmental price, Stewart Signs focus on supplying customers with products that significantly reduce their waste and environmental impact. Using non-PVC alternatives, their service materials are manufactured with a fraction of the damaging chemicals contained in non-recyclable PVC vinyl products.
Leavewell Ltd
Leavewell is in the early stages of exploring alternative human body disposal methods. It is developing a novel process for composting, which performs as a net zero alternative to the traditional methods currently available on the market, whilst supporting re-forestation and nature reserve initiatives that will leave a lasting, positive impact for future generations. The Scale-Up Programme will allow the company to continue on this mission, further exploring net-zero alternatives whilst creating solutions that continue to honour the individual after death.
Efuels Technologies Ltd
Exploring bioelectrochemical solutions, Efuels is a deep-tech start-up looking at ways in which renewable energy can be stored in the existing natural gas infrastructure. As the climate crisis pushes on and with renewable energy alternatives at the forefront of everyone’s minds, its technology could completely revolutionise the way energy is harvested and stored around the world.
Sabe Fluid Dynamics
Sabe Fluid Dynamics specialise in thermal and fluid dynamics, supporting engineering companies of all sizes in the mobility and energy sectors. It delivers bespoke engineering services in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Aerodynamics, and Hydrodynamics, using state-of-the-art technology, which the Scale-Up programme will support in the development of.
LENKÉ Space and Water Solutions Ltd
LENKÉ develop state-of-the-art tools that promote the sustainable use of environmental resources. Its Soil Water Index Forecast Tool uses data from the Copernicus Global Land Service to identify the soil’s optimum time for irrigation and harvest, maximising yield and minimising waste. Its sister product, the Water Quality Analysis Tool, monitors water quality to detect changes through high-resolution satellite data. These tools could revolutionise agricultural industries in developing countries worldwide, encouraging more sustainable farming practices.
ZerdaLab Ltd
Geothermal Energy is renewable, and clean but challenging in terms of drilling, with over 23% of the geothermal project budget spent on the drilling phase. ZerdaLab is arming the drilling industry with fit-for-purpose fixed cutter drill bits. Through innovative design, AI, and the application of machine learning, Zerda Lab can improve the performance of their patented drill bits and lessen costs for their consumers. The team hope their involvement in the Scale-Up Programme will help shape a robust business model that can drive their product development forwards.
Adjacency Group Ltd
Developing the next generation of space science tech, Adjacency is at the forefront of nano-material technology production. Expanding from its customer base in the consumer and automotive markets, the group is currently working on renewable fibre strengthened composites, facing the challenge of making these traditionally unsustainable materials sustainable using thermoplastics.
GT Green Technologies Ltd
The desire for low-carbon transportation services has boomed in recent years. GT Green Technologies is pioneering the new era of commercial shipping vessels with its innovative airflow technology maximising thrust output, lessening emissions, and improving overall efficiency. Its involvement in the Scale-Up programme will help them to raise the funding required to accelerate the development of its wind propulsion system.
Materials in Mind Ltd
