Experienced in creating B2B eCommerce solutions and processes for wholesale/distributors in the industrial supplies, engineering, agricultural and automotive aftermarket parts market sectors.
Major projects include a multi-year project to implement a global multi-lingual, multi-currency B2B eCommerce solution for UK headquartered Sparex Group (http://www.sparex.com) and local market versions for each of their 20 subsidiaries worldwide.
Challenges include handling differences in back office systems, pricing structures and product offering for each local market. In particular the pricing engine was highly sophisticated to enable it to handle customer specific pricing and multiple discount structures.
This eCommerce capability contributes towards Sparex’s growth by increasing end-user brand awareness, growing sales to dealers and reducing cost of sale at the sale time. Sparex has been acquired by the AGCO Group (agricultural machinery manufacturers and owners of the Massey Ferguson and Fendt brands www.agcocorp.com) and I’m now helping them to transition to an in-house eCommerce operation.
Other innovative solutions created include a Web2Print solution for Arco Ltd (MRO/PPE www.arco.co.uk). Arco was spending vast amount of effort producing custom catalogues and wallcharts for trade accounts that only purchased from a list of pre-approved items. A self-service Web2Print solution was created allowing account holders to create wallcharts of approved items online, saving Arco many hours of product time.
Also successfully helped clients in the hospitality sector to sell conferencing facilities and retail gift vouchers – including increasing seasonal online sales of gift vouchers from c£25k to c£140k (in December alone) within 3 years.
