WORLD LEADING BUSINESS SUPPORT
On 3 July at The Sheds in Bristol’s Temple Quarter Enterprise, hosted by MyWorld, investors can get the inside track on the high-potential creative tech sector and find out why the South West is primed with investment opportunities.
Covering a vast area of technologies and sub-sectors, including gaming, film, TV and animation, immersive technologies, fashion, performing arts and content creation, the Creative Industries are ripe with opportunities.
In its recent report, ‘The climate for early stage investing in the Creative Industries’, the UK British Angels Association (UKBAA) found that the Creative Industries contribute £116bn in GVA to the UK economy, which is greater than the aerospace, automotive, life sciences and oil and gas sectors combined. Yet, despite its immense investment potential, the creative sector often struggles to connect with the investor community and the event aims to bridge this gap.
On the day, there will be the opportunity to meet with pioneering creative tech companies from the South West including Condense, Meaning Machine and Stornaway and the chance to tour the world-class, innovative environment at this newly created production facility.
On 17 July at the Carriage Works in Swindon, investors can learn more about the potential of sustainable chemical technologies, a new and rapidly developing sector.
The drive for Net Zero has galvanised a growing wave of start-ups which are creating cleaner, safer and more efficient chemical processes or turning waste, plastic and bio-based materials into value-added chemicals which can be used across many different industries including health, construction and manufacturing.
The event will enable investors to dive into the world of sustainable chemical technologies and discover some of the key advancements that are shaping the future of this industry.
Investors will have the opportunity to see innovation in action from a host of sustainable chemical technologies start-ups which will present their technology and investment opportunity.
Serena Giaminardi, Head of Programmes and Investment, SETsquared says: “We know that barriers to investment in emerging sectors can include lack of knowledge or experience in that space and uncertainty about the growth and returns. We are therefore inviting investors to come along and learn more about these two very different but equally exciting sectors, both of which are particularly strong in the South West.”
“The creative tech often brings together diverse fields such as design, technology, art and business. This cross-pollination of ideas alongside rapid technological advancement makes it a hotbed of innovation. Whilst sustainable chemical technologies, have huge potential for impact and growth in the near future and can offer fantastic returns on investment”
