WORLD LEADING BUSINESS SUPPORT
The first three companies handpicked to join SETsquared’s hub in Basing View, which opened at the end of last year, have been selected.
Following SETsquared’s Entrepreneurship Training Programme in February, which saw 19 entrepreneurs from the Basingstoke area learn how to bring their business ideas to life and access funding, three have been chosen to be part of the Basing View hub and receive the benefits of being a SETsquared member.
The selected winners are business ventures Xscalo, RazorSecure and Spry Fox Networks. Each will benefit from business support including being matched with mentors and experts, regular business review panels, high-quality investor pitching opportunities and access to software from big brand names at heavily discounted prices.
Mahesh Hariharan, founder and CEO of Xscalo, said: “I think SETsquared’s Basing View hub is the best thing that could have happened to the local tech start-up scene. Being part of SETsquared has given us visibility within the business community and validated our offering.”
Alex Cowan, CEO of RazorSecure, said: “With any new business there is always a steep learning curve, but SETsquared’s guidance has been invaluable to us. The team’s experience and knowledge of tech start-ups has really helped to push RazorSecure to the next level.”
Jon Haspell, director of communications at Spry Fox Networks, said: “We’re excited to be part of the SETsquared partnership. We’re looking forward to working with the team over the next few months and know our business will benefit from the depth of experience SETsquared can provide.”
As well as introducing new businesses, SETsquared is also recruiting a hub manager to oversee the running of the Basing View hub and support SETsquared’s communities of high-tech start-up companies based around the space sector.
Simon Bond, Innovation Director at SETsquared, said: “These are really exciting times at the Basing View hub. We can’t wait for our latest entrepreneurs to get settled in and start working on their businesses with SETsquared’s support.
“The hub manager role is also a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a real enthusiasm for start-up companies, and will involve supporting the delivery of our entrepreneurship programmes, helping companies to grow by accessing investment and identifying funding opportunities.”
SETsquared’s Basing View hub is expected to bring £20 million of investment to Basingstoke as well as support 20 new high growth companies over the next few years.
