New programme aims to increase health entrepreneurs’ growth potential

  • New programme will be free to health entrepreneurs and businesses.
  • Ideal opportunity for local businesses and entrepreneurs from Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Isles of Scilly to work alongside NHS innovators.

Entrepreneurs and local businesses from across the South West (Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Isles of Scilly) have just over a week left to apply for a new free training programme which will help them turn their ideas into businesses.

Applications for SETsquared and the South West AHSN’s Healthcare Enterprise Programme for innovation-led businesses close on 20 April and those behind the course are urging people and businesses to apply.

Simon Bond, innovation director at SETsquared, which is running the course, said: “This free programme will help people to learn how to build and grow successful businesses from healthcare innovations, which will help them to make that potential a reality.

“Over the three days, the entrepreneurs and local businesses will learn how to develop their business model, market and sell their idea as well as understand how to secure the resources and financial backing required to launch their innovative idea.”

Jon Siddall, investments partnerships manager at South West AHSN, said: “It’s so important for each entrepreneur to be able to learn from the experts and understand how they can turn their ideas into reality and real patient benefit. Programmes like the Healthcare Enterprise Programme can make a huge difference and could lead to a real positive change in the local health economy.”

The Healthcare Enterprise Programme for innovation-led businesses, run by SETsquared and the South West AHSN, will be held on 10, 11 and 18 June at Dartington Hall.
