About the Investment Programme & Event

For the past 20 years, SETsquared has staged a highly successful annual investment event, helping companies raise over £160m+ investment.

Investment Futures will provide a platform for up to 20 SETsquared member companies to pitch to an audience of tech investors and bring the community together to debate hot topics around the investment landscape.

Successful companies will participate in an Investment Programme to polish and perfect their investment pitches. They will pre-record a five-minute pitch, which will be uploaded and promoted on our Investment Platform in the lead-up to the event. They will then deliver a one-minute quick-fire pitch at the actual event while networking with an audience of 150+ investors and getting involved in the critical discussions on the day.

Participation is free to SETsquared members.

Selected companies get thousands of pounds worth of support with no equity or fees charged.

Step-by-step guide to submitting your application

Applicants are eligible if they are members of one of our SETsquared Business Acceleration Centres in Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Southampton and Surrey, a spin-out or a student-led innovation start-up from a SETsquared partner university or a member of one of our SETsquared programmes. If you would like further information about the selection process and to be considered, please join the SETsquared Innovation Platform.
Once you have requested to join the platform, please submit your application attaching a 1-page executive summary and company logo. Applications are assessed against the Applicant Criteria and validated by the SETsquared central team and local centres. A maximum of 75 companies will be admitted to the selection process.
Once we validate applications, you will participate in an offline selection panel. Ventures will be invited to join the Investment Platform – Envestry – where you will be given a unique link to a profile to populate with information about your venture. This must include a minimum of a one-page executive summary and a 5-minutes pre-recorded investment pitch. Ventures will be assessed based on their Envestry profile by an offline external panel of investors (no live pitch and Q&A.) From this, up to 20 companies will be selected to pitch at the Investment Futures event.
Selected companies will be given further support to hone their pitch ready for the showcase.
