About the support

The telecoms industry is constantly evolving. There are opportunities for a wide range of technologies to shape its future; however, translating innovation into commercial offerings can be challenging, and you can’t do it alone. You need academic and corporate partners, proof of concept pilots, test beds, grants, investment, and so much more.

You will explore telecoms sector investment trends, position your start-up for the right investment stage, learn how to position your business for investment and look at opportunities for investor connections.

Each cohort runs for three weeks, with 1-2 hours of self-paced learning to complete each weekly module, followed by a one-hour online live session with our coaches and trainers each week.

Blended learning

The Transforming Telecoms programme has been designed to be as accessible and efficient as possible, maximising your learning while limiting the time you need to spend away from your business. Delivered entirely online using a mix of self-paced learning on our e-learning platform and live coaching sessions with our mentors, you’ll have the opportunity to share your opinions and seek expert advice.

One-to-one support, online, various dates available

Exclusively available in December, we’re offering the opportunity for businesses to access free one-to-one support with our expert trainers and mentors. Rather than join a cohort, you can access the support flexibly and work directly with a trainer to address projects and/or challenges unique to your business.

Cohort-based learning

Learn alongside a group of peers, with three weekly live sessions to reflect and build on the module together and develop a rapport with our trainers. On your start date, all module materials will be released for you to work through at your own time and pace.

You will then join your cohort for a weekly live session to benefit from insights from our trainers and coaches to unpack the learning and look at how it can be applied within your business.

Flexi learning

Can’t commit to undertaking a weekly cohort session? We’ve got you covered. With flexi learning, all of the module content will be available to you from your start date for you to work through in your own time, and you can join the live sessions that suit you, so you can still benefit from time with our trainer and coaches and other founders who have accessed the programme.

Trainer

Chris Pett is experienced in working with company founders and innovators to grow their business from startup to scale, focusing on go-to-market strategy, investor-readiness and innovation portfolio management. He works with accelerator and incubator programme leads to create world-class training for startup and scale-up company founders, as well as technology transfer/spinout support for university research commercialisation teams.

Stephen Mayers

Coach

Stephen is a technology leader with over 30 years of experience in the mobile telecommunications sector. He has held a variety of senior technical, sales and delivery positions for Telco operators and vendors, SMEs, and three scale-up companies (including Orange). Holding an MBA to complement his extensive industry experience, he specialises in scaling start-ups, pre-sales, leadership coaching and programme management.

Jenny Pater

Coach

Jenny Pater is a NED, Fractional COO, Certified Leadership Coach and Lawyer. With over 12 years’ experience in the innovation & start-up space, she’s held pivotal commercial and leadership roles within VC-backed startups from Seed to Series C. Jenny is well versed in the commercialisation of technology & research through her work with leading universities and the Catapult Network. She holds an MSc in Management & Entrepreneurship.
