SETsquared are currently running a series of Investment Readiness Seminars to enable new business ventures to get to a position where they can impress investors to attract external funding.

Aimed primarily at companies based within their business acceleration centres, the two-day workshops examine the need for a clear and compelling statement of the business idea, a well-researched business plan and a credible sales and marketing strategy.

The workshops will also help new businesses understand the different sources of funding such as venture capitalists and angels, and to gain an insight into what investors are looking for. As well as presentations from visiting investors, the participants will get to see if their proposition measures up when they present it to a panel of experts and investors.

Though aimed at ventures seeking investment, the seminars will be just as valuable to those who are not as becoming investment ready will result in a stronger business. It is another benefit of being a member of SETsquared.

Attending the seminar is an important part of the preparation for those SETsquared members who hope to pitch for funding at the annual SETsquared Investor Showcase event to be held in London on 12th October. Attracting a high quality audience of more than 150 investors, this event has enabled over £100m of funding to be raised by showcased companies in the last six years.
