WORLD LEADING BUSINESS SUPPORT
Following Apple’s report of the biggest quarterly profits ever made by a public company earlier this week, start-up and technology innovation businesses in Hampshire and Surrey are set to converge in Basingstoke to get an insight into how to follow in the tech giant’s footsteps.
Businesses and entrepreneurs with an eye on opportunities in the next generation of mobile communications are being urged to come along a networking event at the Basing View Innovation Centre to hear emerging commercial opportunities around 5G mobile telecommunications technology which will be deployed as soon as 2020.
The event, organised by world-leading technology business incubator SETsquared, has attracted a line-up of experts.
Confirmed speakers at the event are Professor Stephen Temple, technical secretary to the Technical Advisory Board at 5G Innovation Centre; Dr Mike Short CBE, vice president at Telefonica Europe and Gerry Foster, 5G systems architect and innovation gateway senior technical project manager.
Keith Robson, event chairman and member of the SETsquared management group, said: “UK technology has lead the world at every stage of the mobile communication revolution over the last 30 years. The next generation, 5G, should be no different and igniting the enthusiasm of entrepreneurs at this early stage could well lead to some ‘British Apples’ in the decades to come.”
The networking event takes place at the SETsquared hub on 5 February from 5.30pm and is supported by 5G Innovation Centre and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council. To register for a place, visit: localhost/setsquared-live/5g
